Explore the extraordinary Spipola Cave, discovered back in 1932 by the Bolognese speleologist Luigi Fantini. A good 4 km long, it is considered one of the largest karst cavities in the chalklands of Western Europe.
Nestled in the impressive Parco dei Gessi e Calanchi dell'Abbadessa, this wonder is part of the UNESCO heritage. Guided by professionals, you will have the unique opportunity to admire the splendid chalk crystals and discover the history of selenite extraction, used extensively in Bologna's historic buildings
