This 19 km circular route allows you to discover the best of Crevalcore, starting from the historic centre, crossing the countryside and reaching the protected oasis of the Vasche dell’Ex Zuccherificio, where nature returns to be the protagonist of this important wetland area.
The route starts from Crevalcore railway station: the first stop is the Leo Preti Puppet Museum, a tiny, extraordinary place where you can immerse yourself in the world of puppetry, among handcrafted sets that tell the story of a lively and engaging popular culture.
After crossing Piazza Malpighi and the centre of Crevalcore, you then immerse yourself in the Crevalcore countryside. The itinerary continues towards the protected oasis of Vasche dell’Ex Zuccherificio, now a renaturalised wetland, perfect for wildlife observation and, for 25 years, home to a pair of white storks, a symbol of environmental rebirth and biodiversity.
The return journey takes you back to Crevalcore station, completing a route that combines culture, nature and taste, ideal for cyclists who want to enjoy the tranquillity.
The route has been designed to favour cycle paths and secondary roads with low traffic volumes. Where this has not been possible, the route includes short sections on busier roads. In any case, it is recommended that you exercise extreme caution and always comply with the Highway Code.

The cycle route is accessible all year round. The best times to visit are definitely the spring months, when you can enjoy the blossoms and mild climate, and early autumn.
During the summer season, particularly in July and August, it is not recommended due to the high temperatures, and winter is also not recommended due to the risk of snow, rain and fog.
