“Via dei colli” (hills route) is a 75 km wine trail immersed in nature. It starts from the municipality of Pianoro and rises to the municipality of Bazzano, passing through wineries, ancient villages, centuries-old abbeys, ravines and endless vineyards. The route allows you to appreciate the beauty and peculiarities of the hills of Bologna and the land where DOC (Denomination of Controlled Origin) and DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) wines are produced.
It is a perfect itinerary not only for lovers of slow tourism but also for anyone who simply wants to enjoy the excellent local food and wine .
The itinerary is made up of six stages and provides participants with the opportunity to experience a number of different routes of different lengths and difficulty levels, in different ways. The territories crossed are dominated by Barbera, Sauvignon and Cabernet viticulture.
High-top hiking boots and thermal anti-blister socks are recommended.
40/50 litre rucksack that should never exceed 7-8 kg (water included. At least 3 litres per day are recommended in summer. On some parts of the route there are neither drinking water fountains nor shops)
