Skiing, snowboarding, sport and pure adrenaline, combined with pleasant moments of recreation, folklore and relaxation. This is what Corno alle Scale offers, the renowned ski resort on the ridge of the Bolognese Apennines, between Emilia and Tuscany.
For those who love speed and fun, there are the slopes named after the great Alberto Tomba, on which the Bolognese champion built much of his world success. For those, on the other hand, who want to experience different emotions, there are the numerous ski mountaineering tracks, the cross-country skiing tracks and the modern snow park, where you can try your hand at acrobatic evolutions on a snow board. Finally, for those in search of a bit of peace and quiet, the Corno alle Scale area offers the possibility of immersing oneself in an uncontaminated nature, rich in fascination, all to be discovered by taking long snowshoe hikes in the thick of the woods that characterise the area.
The station looks like a sort of large natural amphitheatre that fans out from the 1945 metres of Corno alle Scale to Lake Scaffaiolo. Because of these characteristics, the resort is the ideal place for families and children, as well as for athletes and ski clubs, who can find the ideal environment for training up here. Finally, the competition sector is particularly important, thanks to the presence of the Slalom Stadium, perfect for the organisation of national level competitions, but above all the longest slope in the Apennines with its 2600 metres in length.
At Corno alle Scale there are 11 runs, of which: 5 blue (suitable for beginners or those just starting out), 4 red (of medium difficulty, suitable for skiers who already have experience) and 2 black (suitable for expert skiers with high technical skills). More than 80 per cent of the slopes are served by artificial snow systems.
But Corno alle Scale is also synonymous with care for the environment: since 2022, Corno alle Scale has become the first Carbon Neutral ski resort, thanks to a project offered by the Piquadro group, aimed at offsetting all emissions resulting from the operation of the ski lifts and artificial snowmaking. The emissions were offset through carbon credits generated by a reforestation project involving the Brazilian Cerrado rainforest, one of the areas with the highest level of biodiversity in the world.
From the 2022/2023 season, a collaboration has been established with the Terme di Porretta spa, with the aim of offering mountain lovers special snow & wellness packages that include the possibility of relaxing for a few hours in the 34° thermal pool or taking advantage of massages and mud baths suitable for recovering from post-sporting activities. Lastly, the Corno alle Scale online store offers the possibility of purchasing, together with the ski pass, a series of experiential packages that combine the booking of ski lessons, equipment hire, access to the Porretta thermal baths, and hotel reservations in the area. Additional services capable of turning a simple skiing weekend into a truly special holiday.
