Monterenzio is a town in the Bolognese Apennines that is part of the Cinque Valli Bolognesi Mountain Community Union and extends over an area of great historical and natural interest.
This is where one of the most interesting archaeological sites in the region is located. At the Archaeological Park in Monte Bibele you can visit the ancient Etruscan-Celtic village. The area represents the most important Italian archaeological complex and is one of the best known in Europe.
Not far away, is the Museo archeologico Luigi Fantini (Luigi Fantini Archaeological Museum) where the archaeological finds discovered on the Monte Bibele massif are preserved.
The hills of Monterenzio also home to the Villaggio della Salute Più, a thermal oasis that lies in the Sillaro valley, on the first Bolognese Apennines.
Throughout the year you can treat yourself to a moment of rest and relaxation.
In the summer don’t miss the Celtic festival of the “Fuochi di Taranis” (Fires of Taranis). A popular festival recounting the ancient history of the Monterenzi area.
The event aims to appreciate and disseminate the history and culture of the Celtic population who settled in Monterenzio, in the context of Monte Bibele and other local places.
